#1. Good evening, while I was attempting to change out the starter switch in my Takeuchi, I forgot to remove the positive from the battery. Unfortunately, I during the swap, I accidently grounded out the hot wire and blew the 45-amp fuse link in the rear of the machine.
From the looks of the schematic the horn is the only item that gets power to that button as well as the starter, and ignition switch. We can jump start the unit and it starts right up and starts to recharge the battery as it is supposed to do. Any suggestions? If we pull the saftey relay fuse, the machine runs for a long time with both lights on, until the battery drains from not being charged by the alternator. So it looks like I've got something setting off the safety relay.
If you have power, jump it to pin 3, and the fuel shut off should pull in. If it doesn't pull in, you have a bad wire from the relay to the solenoid. If it pulls in go to step 2. I disconnect the fuel line after the main fuel filter and turn the key, the diesel flows no problem! so it's not a fuel blockage after all? now I am totally mystified as to why it won't start. Any ideas anyone?
